This video provides guidelines and ideas for connecting with students following the loss of a parent or family member. If a video call is possible, that will be so much better than a phone call, but the guidelines could work the same for either, using a call software that allows more than two people to be in the call. The accompanying PDF is a shortened version of the video and is handy to have at hand when you make the call. It provides a list of questions you could ask the student and that may be helpful as the call unfolds.
